2011: Final Week updates

Pyoneers and Jr. Pyoneers,
Pyoneers are individuals who have boldly accepted the challenge of exploring, learning and employing the highly technical skills required to build open source educational games and software. Pyoneers are mentors and role models to younger students in their communities. They are the creative and intellectual elite that strive to better the world around them by embracing and honing their talents to challenge the status quo. Pyoneers, above all else, are intensely dedicated to sharing their creativity, talents and abilities freely and openly with others in their communities and around the world.
Many of you have risen to the challenge and we have seen outstanding collaboration between teams, students, and volunteers many miles apart. You are doing a great job, keep it up! Your enthusiasm fires up our volunteers to do this every year.
We are on the last week, how is it going? Did you enjoy the season so far? Did you know we are working hard to expand the Summer pyGame even more! Some questions have arisen regarding submission of the games. Here are the latest and greatest infos on what you need to know. If you see a problem please report it so we can fix is as quickly as possible.

Updates

  • Artist Challenge 2.0
    • So after wondering why we didn't get any submissions to the 2011 Artist Challenge I decided to try a different approach. Check out the new submission page here. We are going to reopen submissions until next Saturday evening. Questions? Issues? Problems? Let us know.
  • Alumni Networking
    • Two of our senior Alumni, Anthony Canino and Drew Smith have accepted the challenge of beginning a Summer pyGames networking group for senior students. In the years to come we are hoping to be able to better serve our alumni with resources, support, as well as follow their progress and lend a helping hand.
  • Volunteer page
    • Wonder what we look like? Check out our new page highlighting our volunteers. Remember we are 100% volunteer run, so if you have a moment I am sure they would love to get a thank you from the teams and students they are working with.
BTW I cannot wait to see the games this year. Good luck teams!
